After the costume contest, burlesque, and Moulin Rouge the other night. It was a nearly spur of the moment trip made possible by a friend. We met at ECCC (Emerald City Comic Con) when we were both working the show last year. She was fun, silly, full to bursting with adorable, cheerful personality! We just clicked. Fast forward. We kept in touch a lil’ bit over twitter and tumblr. *waves at her!* Last week one dark and gloomy midnight I had been searching for her tumblr in vain. Before bed I checked email and there was the niftiest little letter. It said that she had decided to go to the Moulin Rouge event in Portland, had VIP tickets, and did I want to go. I wrote right back and said yes I would love it, but above all it would be fantastic to actually get to spend some time getting to know each other! I went, we met, and for the first time ever it was truly like meeting a sister you’ve never met! We both love the color orange, we’re both reading Dracula on our phones, we wear the same size bra, we will both don costumes at the slightest provocation! I promptly laced her into my black corset (her costume was adorable!), she gave me long ringlet curls for the 1st time ever in my life, and away we wooshed in a cab. We were even in the costume contest! The show was fab, flouncy, theatrical, glittery, and over-the-top in the very best ways! Once back at hotel we just fell into our huge beds. I’m not used to being alone in a big bed and have fierce insomnia, still it was very soft. The next day we putzed around Portland and even went to Sock Dreams for over the knee socks. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to see my big sister again! ^__^.
